Communicable Disease
Prevention of the spread of communicable diseases is an important issue for Public Health. There is evidence that rapid identification, treatment and prevention of spread can reduce mortality. Communicable diseases are transferable from one person to another. The spread of disease in the community is determined by environmental and social conditions and the relative immunity of the population. This communicable disease section includes information on Hepatitis A, B & C, influenza (flu), tuberculosis and other communicable disease.
Covid-19 is a communicable disease. However, this has been included in a separate section of the JSNA due to the impact of the pandemic.
