Good sexual health is an important part of overall physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing. It is central to the development of some relationships and can greatly impact other aspects of our health and wider wellbeing. This section includes information about sexually transmitted infections, access to contraception and reproductive health services and teenage pregnancy.

Sexual and Reproductive Health Services: Contraception (NHS Digital)
The Sexual and Reproductive Activity Dataset consists of anonymised patient-level data submitted annually. It focuses mainly on contraception and collects some data on contacts with SRH services for non-contraception-related activity. Data from GP settings and pharmacies is not included (unless otherwise stated). The publication contains national, local authority, and provider-level tables of data.

The 2021 edition of the HPfE provides a comprehensive snapshot of the nation’s health and updates many indicators presented in previous reports. It also contains a summary of the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on many aspects of health.
