Lifestages:

Maternity and infancy

Good maternal health care and nutrition are important contributors to child survival. Modifiable risk factors in pregnancy can have health impacts on both mother and child and can increase the risk of stillbirth, complications in pregnancy, low birthweight and of the child developing conditions in later life. This section contains information on infant mortality, breastfeeding, antenatal and newborn screening.
